Kotzia (2018)
Regulatory Bodies began its journey in the heart of Athens on Kotzia Square, between two buildings housing two major city Regulatory Bodies: the City Hall of Athens and the Building of National Bank of Greece.

Observing the space, one can easily see the problem of its design. It is a square designed as an abstract space-passage which strangely makes the small archaeological site even more intense. It does not allow the “passer-by” to stand and become familiar in any way, as there are no spots of standing and sitting, or protection from the sun, rain, or wind. Everything is visible and privacy is struggling to exist. In this experiment we try with the least possible intervention, to invite people just to be in the square. The challenge lies in the fact that if you do something spectacular you attract attention and you become the subject, not the square. We have to find a quality that barely emerges and gets absorbed back into space. We look for something that exists but again maybe not.
